PAIA & access to information
How to direct a request for records to Black Sable™ ATLAS.
Requesting records
The Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA) provides a process for requesting records. Access to a private body’s records is subject to the Act, including the requirement that a record is needed to exercise or protect a right and the applicable grounds of refusal.
Submit a request
Use the prescribed Form 2 and send it to louis@blacksableatlas.com, marked “PAIA request — for the attention of the head of the private body / Information Officer”. This email is the website routing contact; it is not a representation that a particular person has been registered as Information Officer.
Identify the record, the right you seek to exercise or protect, why the record is needed, the preferred form of access and your contact details. Where you act for another person, include evidence of authority. Arrange secure identity verification rather than attaching unnecessary sensitive documents to a first email.
Assessment, timing and fees
Requests are assessed under PAIA. Prescribed charges and statutory time periods, including lawful extensions, may apply. A request does not guarantee disclosure of confidential, third-party or otherwise protected records.
Manual and statutory particulars
This page is an access guide, not a completed section 51 PAIA manual. The formal manual, registered legal-entity and service-address particulars, and confirmed Information Officer details remain to be supplied for publication. The contact above can assist with directing a request.
